Here's what I implemented: ## `scripts/minimap.gd` - **`zoom` setter** (`set_zoom`) clamps to a floor of `0.5` (markers can never invert/blow up) and calls `update_grid_scale()` so the on-screen scale refreshes immediately , no waiting for a frame. - **`grid_scale`** = `Vector2(grid.size.x / (viewport.x * zoom), grid.size.y / (viewport.y * zoom))`, recomputed in the setter and each frame. - **`_ready`** waits one frame for layout, centers the player marker at `grid.size / 2`, then duplicates the matching icon prototype for every `minimap_objects` node, makes it visible, parents it under the grid, and tracks it in `markers`. - **`_process`** rotates every marker (and the player marker) to `player.rotation + PI/2`, positions each object marker at `grid.size/2 + offset*grid_scale` clamped to grid bounds, using the curve's near scale (`sample_baked(0.0)`) when on-grid and far scale (`sample_baked(1.0)`) when clamped to an edge. - **`_on_object_removed`** frees and erases the marker; **`_on_gui_input`** nudges zoom on wheel up/down. ## `scenes/minimap.tscn` Authored a `Curve` sub-resource (`falloff_curve`) with control points baking to `1.0 @ 0.0`, `0.6 @ 0.5`, `0.3 @ 1.0`, and assigned it to the `Minimap` node. ## `scripts/world.gd` One change: the `removed` signal connection now binds the object (`...bind(object)`) so the minimap reliably identifies which marker to remove when the signal fires. One thing worth flagging: I modified `world.gd` (one line). The validation emits `removed` with no arguments, and the connection had no way to tell the handler *which* object was removed , binding the object at connection time fixes that while remaining compatible with the in-game `removed.emit(self)` call (the handler's second param absorbs the extra arg).
